I reckon a few in cyberia may enjoy or at least endure my musings. After blogging incessantly for over a decade, until a heavier course load caused me to downshift, a less frenetic pace flows into these posts, coasting into thought, ideas, and whatever drifts to mind. (Is there a difference between these three conceptions once reified?)

I’m an Irish citizen born in Los Angeles. Having taught for four decades in Southern California, having grey tousled hair to prove it, I’ve done the same—if for a shorter span— for La Comisión del Fulbright-Ecuador. My Ph.D. is in literature from UCLA; M.A, The Claremont Graduate School; B.A. Loyola Marymount. My forays into mind and its material production (fka print) span language-learning among Irish/ Gaeilgeoiri and Andean Kichwa-speakers; Jesuit-Franciscan Studies; rock; (dis)belief; Celt folk; lit crit; (counter)cultural critique; Ireland; medievalism. Plus electric bass guitar/ ronroco.

However, I’d welcome alms, as I’m an indie scholar without academic means of support. And once in a while, I must cough up for dead trees bound and pulped to blaze a path—mine’s Ecuador detoured onto the end of Oregon's Trail—as I track my life’s myopic ambling with curiosity, awe, stumbles, intellect, baffles, nagging “what-if’s?” Information wants to be free?
